Our story
Every step you take while staying with us will be
on history-rich ground (literally)
Hostal Girona is located on the second and third floors of a historic building designed by renowned Catalan architect Enric Sagnier. The desire to create a place with personality, history, elegance and comfort inspired us to build our hotel so that guests who stay with us feel at home and can see Barcelona first hand. Our hostal features authentic interiors from the era of Catalan modernism, including Nolla mosaic floors, which have been produced since 1860.
Stay with us and be in the middle of all
the action in Barcelona's city center
Girona Street, the location of our hostal, is ideally situated between two of Barcelona's most vibrant districts. On one side, it is the so-called right side of the Eixample district, which is part of the urban heritage route "Golden Square", which covers a large area around an axis defined by Paseo de Gracia, the city center's main street.
On the other hand, it is right next to the charming El Born district, with its narrow cobblestone streets, endless bars and cafes, and lively nightlife. Exploring Girona Street and its surrounding areas provides a truly special opportunity to discover and appreciate the diverse beauty and culture of Barcelona.
One can find everything from historical monuments to modern art galleries, from traditional markets to the newest restaurants, all within close proximity. It's no wonder Girona Street is such a popular destination for both locals and visitors alike!
